Nucks Destroy Avs, 8-2

I'm blaming Tom Preissing AND the new jerseys.
The Canucks did exactly the same thing to the Avs that they did on Nov 1st in Vancouver -- pressured the hell out of the puck, especially while the Avs were in their own zone and they out worked the Avs.  If you didn’t see it, the final score makes this game seem like a total and complete disaster and it wasn’t quite that bad (but don‘t get me wrong, it was bad).  After being down 4-0 going into the 3rd, the Avs got the game to 4-2 with 9 minutes left, and then the roof totally collapsed on the Budaj and the Avs - giving up 4 goals in garbage time, which really ballooned the final score (and hopefully will motivate the Avs to get their heads out of their asses the next time they see Vancouver.)

  • So, who are we blaming for this one - Tom Preissing or the new blue jerseys?
  • Preissing “led” the team with a minus 4, BTW.
  • Sacco’s “this is a must win game” approach blew up in his face.  The Avs seemed to have a little more panic in their game after the first two Vancouver goals vs other games that they got behind early in.
  • On the 4th goal, Koci with a really lazy icing at the red line the kept his tired line out - Sacco doesn’t call his timeout and bam, the puck is in the bad of the net.
  • This was an out of hand, chippy game and Koci got a whopping 2:01 of ice time.  Why does Koci dress, Sacco?  Help me understand.
  • 4 goals on 8 shots.  Nothing screened, nothing tipped.  Way to earn more ice time, Boods.  I think that 1.00 GAA just went up.
  • After completing 666 games, Henrik Sedin gets his first hat trick?  Clearly he made a pact with Satan.
  • The Avs are winless in their last 3 game - only getting 1 point of 6 and it doesn’t get any easier.  They are back in western Canada next week  - @ CGY on Tue, @ EDM on Wed and @ VAN on Fri.
