I wanted to go with a photo of Andy, but how can you not go with this one?  (Photo by Michael Martin/Getty Images)

So, the obvious stuff first.  Really nice for Andy to get a shutout against the team that let him walk via Unrestricted Free Agency (and by the way, didn‘t get anything in return for him).  Thanks Florida, he’s turned out to be a fairly decent player
for us most days, at least on those days that end in “y”.
  • Andy was THE reason the Panthers were shutout.  I’d love to be able to say that the Avs were rock solid defensively, but Florida had plenty of dangerous chances, many of them as a result of bad Avalanche turnovers in their own zone.
  • Nice bounce back game for Stastny.  2 goals and he had a few more chances. Good to see right after far and away his worst game all season.
  • So how is that Wolski deal looking now?  We traded an underperforming top six forward who was recently trending at half a point a game and was a below average power play point man for a top six forward who is recently trending at better than a point a game and is an above average power play point man.
  • Kevin “I’m the other guy in the Wolski deal” Porter played in his first game as an Av and wore #32.  He played his checking line role very well - much better than when Mercier or Stoa or Svatos have been asked to play a similar role.  As long as Kevin’s defense play stays solid, he’ll continue to be in the lineup - barring a Brandon Yip return.
  • The true “winner” of Wolski deal won’t known for a couple of years, but if you’re the Avalanche, there is no question you improved your team this season with the move.
  • Duchene almost scored 2 amazing goals.  I’m so excited to get to watch this kid grow into the superstar player he will soon become.
  • Quincey was a healthy scratch again.  I wonder if he has some sort of nagging injury that’s not bad enough to keep him out of the lineup, but is bad enough to effect his game.  His second half of the season game has dropped multiple notches vs. his first half of the season game.
Next game: at Dallas on Sunday, 1PM MST

Injury is a possibility

Who's to say? I will say, at this point, any move that Sacco makes has my full support. Guy is a complete U-Turn from Granato and the Q-stache.

It's funny to see Chicago with goaltending issues. Huh, Q with goalie issues? Maybe Q just doesn't like goalies in general? Jerk.
